The Fairies

There once was a time, throughout the land

When fairies walked, hand in hand

With their glittery hair and sparkle eyes

And with their shining wings, they took to the skies

Playing all day, having lots of fun

Dancing and singing until the day was done

They lived in perfect harmony and bliss

Nothing went wrong, not a thing was amiss

No wars, no fights and altercations

Peace and harmony throughout the fairy nations

But then, one day, a strange creature came

It was big and scary, human was its name

It grunted at them “We own this place”

“Get out now, before we destroy your race”

The fairies didn’t know what to do

They figured that they were through

Then one brave fairy with all of his might

Punched a human and started the fight

The battle was bloody, brutal, and hard

Not a single person wasn’t wounded or scarred

But no matter how hard the fairies tried

They couldn’t win, already many had died

So they continued to fight until one fairy remained

The ground his fresh sliver blood had stained

That fairy looked at the humans with anger in his eye

And with the last of his voice, he began to cry

“You may have destroyed our race”

“Wiped us out from this once peaceful place”

“But I curse you, new owners of this Earth”

“With a life of fighting and sadness, instead of happiness and mirth”

“You humans will destroy yourselves and cause your own death”

And with those words, he took his last breath

So the next time about war and death you kid,

Remember the fairies, and we humans did.
