A small reflection of what I once was

Mirrored in the cracked surface of what I've become

Just a flicker of a damaged soul

That used to feel, before it went numb

They miss you…they need you

They want to be your only friends

This vicious cycle will not stop,

This harrowing drama never ends

You try to make them understand

But all efforts are in vain

Why do these people that you call friends

Continue to cause you pain?

A slight recollection of what I've become

Reflected in the polished façade of my life

Holding onto these hopeless expectations

Grasping my sanity through this strife
