Thin wires circulate

A neck apart.

Sky-high, and yet

they touch my lashes;

fringe them out.

(If I try to disobey,

what will happen?)

Sear me with metallic flame, and

I shudder with joy.

Ice tails catch me,

Carry me to an alien home

Within the skull's heart.

I find myself with one leg missing

To craggy Martian raptors.

The other is your souvenir,

dear.
