The Mirror

You’re going to make some girl very happy one day.
What? You’ve never been told that before?
Not by anyone?
How strange!

Forgive me if I find that hard to believe.
I notice you when you’re all alone.
And I see a mixed brew of personality and conviction.
I see inner-strength lying dormant,
Waiting to be awakened,
In a spectacular display of ash and plume.

It’s funny - You see all this as well,
Refusing to believe it’s really you.
So fearful of wearing a false façade,
When you haven’t been yourself for years…
