Are you happy monkey girl?

Or did you miss the sines
leading you around the curve?

(mmmmhmmmmm
behind the not so hidden scene
the ladies and gents agree,
glasses sliding down noses
and they share a smirk of inside jokes,
“And just where do you think the poetry
came from?”)

It was a banana chase!
Through the highest of leaves
all green and brown trees
a blurr, moving, rushing, hurry
go for the gold – faux

but this one time,
near the edge,
I saw white and stopped

A dead tree, slender, pale
faced up but no longer
begging for the sun

this little old lady
I could hear her frail arms
rattling, bony, point up at it
for some thugs to cut it down
so I waited for it to happen…
and waited…
waited….

(they scribble fast now, o yes,
“Aha! I know the perfect pill..”
“But wait, just a good talking…”
“O yes, I agree I know just what’s..”
“..in her head…”
“But I rather think…”)

And then what?

Which fate was this old lady?

What banana did you need?

(It’s not done?
Shhhhhh,
O stop that, o course it’s not
But I think that there
Would you just shuthefuckup?)

When night time came
while my eyes were closed,
there was a thud.

Supposedly, but I didn’t hear it.

Now you tell me
if a tree falls in the woods
but there’s nobody there to hear it,
does it still make a sound?
