Waves of Time

As I'm riding the waves of Time

Watching the ripples my steps impress upon the age

I see the progression of my life

The days that are long gone.

I feel sorrow for the ones

Whom I pass and leave behind

But my joy comes from those

Whom I take to my home.

The waves of Time aren't always smooth.

I'm often swamped

And Time not caring

Continues along.

I traverse the waves

No longer a novice

The passing is kinder

But the going is faster.

Time slips through my fingers

It's hard letting go.

It's passing me by now

As it does to us all.

So I make the most of my journey

Having fun all the way

I keep riding the waves

Until I meet that distant shore.
