Afterword
I wrote it as an exercise, set six years before the beginning of the book, in developing Ariel Noble Pace's character, because I lost him for a couple chapters. And then I edited it a bit so that it could be a short story for posting here.
If you're curious about the setting, the Method Six universe is set in a world called Devonmire, a small continent about the size of central/southern Europe. There are four countries in all, Ariel Noble Pace being from the eastern most one 'Tsugeoka'. I removed all references to Devonmire and Tsugeoka for simplicity's sake since I assumed no one would know what I was talking about anyway. And I wanted to keep the story short.
It is a polytheistic world, which is why when Ariel curses he says 'gods'.
Also, in terms of technology, I would place their advancements in about 1890 North America, but with many more advancements in home electricity and less in the realm of transportation (no trains or ships, anything like that.)
Please review, tell me what you think. Ariel is one of my favourite characters.
Thanks for reading!
