SUMMARY: The humans have one protector… she will guard the humans from the vampires… but who will guard her heart from a certain vampire?? READ AND REVIEW
A/N: I know the summary gave the impression that it was just a supernatural world and stuff but it isn’t. It’s about a young girl finding her inner magical strength to guard the humans… just a normal world. A normal high school fiction almost! Read it please hehe.
Chapter 1: The day of the man long gone
So when school was finished I was sort of relieved. I felt like a huge burden had been taken of my shoulder. I grabbed my bag and left the school area. The weather was still wonderful. I walked in silence. Deeply in my own thoughts. Sarah always got a ride by her older brothers. I didn’t mind walking alone though.
I entered the house and found grandmother Rose cleaning the kitchen again. She seriously just loved cleaning kitchens and the house. I sat down on one of the tables. ”Grandma?” I asked.
Grandma Rose looked up from the coffee machine she was cleaning. ”Yes dear?” she asked.
I took a deep breath and placed my bag on the kitchen table. ”I had a dream last night… about my father” I said. I took my books out and spread them on the table. ”Did father… was my father strange?”
”Shame on you to talk like that about your father” grandma Rose said and placed the coffee machine back on its place. ”Your father was a holy man” she answered. I had heard that speech before. ”He cherished his religion and fulfilled his obligations to god” she said.
To god. My father had been a holy man. That didn’t tell me much about himself though. ”Grandma why did my father die?”
”God wanted your father… There is nothing more to say about that” she ended and dried the plates and placed them back on their place. ”Are you hungry dear?” she asked.
I shook my head. I wasn’t hungry… I was curious. My father had been a holy man… a man of wisdom. But why did he then die? Car accident? Cancer? Anything. But every time I asked my grandmother why my father had died she never answered. Or if she did answer she told me god had wanted my father. But… I kept having the same dream… with the exact same words…Angel… you have to wake up little sweetheart. You have to… the humans needs you…Angel listen to me…you have to listen to me! Humans are a weak race… they know nothing about the destruction that the vampires can bring. They know nothing about the magical world that we’re all a part of. Angel… listen.Your life will be different… but remember… there’s always a light. You just have to find your light sweetheart…don’t ever question yourself…Wake up my beautiful Angel… wake up and see the sunrise. My father’s gentle words running through my dreams. I heard his voice… even though I never had known him. ”…grandma did my father ever call the humans a weak race?”
Grandma petrified. ”No dear. Never” she answered. ”Do you want a cookie” why did she keep avoiding the question?! Why didn’t she tell me what really was on her mind. I could easily see on her face she was lying.
”Grandma…” I shook my head and trailed of into silence. No answer. As usual. ”Well… I better make some homework”. I turned to face the book and started reading about World war 2. Math wasn’t any better. But I had to make it fast. My grandma slowly started preparing dinner.
I was exactly finished as she was finished with our dinner. My grandmother was a fantastic cook. She had had 4 sons. So I guess she had a lot of practice. We sat down by the dinner table and ate. The dinner was as usual fantastic. She had really outdone herself. She kept talking about save sex and how youngsters had reacted when they saw an old lady talking about sex. I could only imagine.
My grandma was a fantastic woman. I was happy she took me in when no one really wanted me. She raised me and taught me how to be a fine young girl.
”Let’s pray” she said and took my hands. ”Dear god we thank you for us once again being able to eat… we thank you for the food. Please watch guide and watch over us again” she said. She slowly released my hands. ”Angel. Your father loved you… more than anything” she stared down in her hands. ”He was my youngest son. He carried the world on his shoulders… yet he always remained my little Michael,” she smiled. ”He was named after an angel” Small tears started trailing down on her empty plate. ”My boy” she slowly dried her tears away. ”But that boy made me more proud than any of the others”. I didn’t know the others… ”when I lost him and I saw your mother… pregnant” she trailed into silence. ”I saw… his life had not been in vain. He had a little girl who would take his place” she shook her head. ”Oh my look at the time. We better go to bed,” she said. She always slept very early. Doctor’s recommendation.
I nodded collected my things and headed toward my room. It was only around 8 o’clock. But grandma Rose was used to sleep very early. Grandma had never been really sick. She didn’t smoke, she didn’t eat anything she wasn’t supposed to and she didn’t have a husband. Grandad died a few years ago. No one really knew why he died. Some said that losing his youngest son drove him to suicide. But was that really the truth? I doubted it. I sat down on my bed staring at the picture of my father. It was a huge painting. He looked like an angel. His sea blue eyes were shinning. I sensed a deep happiness in the painting. I sighed heavily. I had turned my computer on in case someone wanted to send me a message on MSN. Nothing. It was just a boring August afternoon with no changes.
I stopped buying those magazines years ago. You know those gossip magazines that girls have a tendency to read? Well… my mom was always on the cover. I didn’t want to remember her. She wasn’t a part of my life anymore. My mom’s name was Lucy. Or my grandmother used to call her Lucifer. I shook the thoughts of my mom away from my mind. She didn’t care about me.
I jumped up at the sound of receiving a message on MSN. Sarah?
Sarah says:
Hey Angel. Jacob you know the guy a year older than us are holding a party on Friday. Wanna go? PLEASE! I really REALLY wanna go.
I smiled weakly. Angel says: Sure!
Sarah says: Yay! Great!
I smiled again. Sarah was my best friend. Besides going to the party might be fun.
Please leave a review.
Love
