The Fundamental Things Apply

One of my favourite pastimes is watching older films. I especially enjoy anything done in the era

when people did not realize smoking was actually a health hazard. I mourn the time when ladies and

gentlemen actually acted like ladies and gentlemen. I would not say that things were simpler then, but

they certainly seemed much more elegant and refined. Not to mention that a lot of traditional values

were still upheld, and the ones that were challenged actually mattered. Perhaps I am a platonist who is

exhausted by the relative attitude that so many people seem to have these days, and would simply prefer

the revival of the Forms, or perhaps I was simple born in the wrong decade.
