Blessed moon, blessed stars,
do tell me that I've tried,
To live in your honor and be
worthy of your eyes.
My perseverance trembles;
there is riddled sadness in my heart
Oh please, I implore!
will this melancholy tear us apart?
I've no desire to go away.
I've no inclination of declining
Each twilight invitation you send
to view you above
to banish my previous pinings.
To feel the wind brush my back!
Reassuring my lonely skin
that no matter which blunder next I make
I've still my chance to win.
And though my tender, muddled brain
aches most wearily,
When I cry out to you in the sky -
You stare back,
as if granting me a wish.
