Rock - castles

I would have been your
deliverance into
calm and freakish oceans,
trashing and caressing you with
every leaking wave.

All that exploring with oars
only led to the emptiest shores
where we layer castles that
we won't ever live in
from rock that will
never give in.
The tide has raked her foamy
fingers down the side of my face,
and simple wandering is all that
I take up in your place.

Reminding myself
(nautically)
of the casual way
we rocked together;
remaining here
(naughty)
and empty with
only seagull feathers.
