At dawn the dragon breaks free.
When the birds hide,
and the animals flee.
Unaware the people are,
of when or where he might strike.
They can only hope it will be afar.
When the alarm bells sound,
The hero readies his pike.
Fear is his biggest concern,
but fear is what drove him.
Or perhaps fear itself had something to learn.
For it had been his downfall.
When the hero died all went dim.
One thing is for certain,
Only a fool fights a dragon.
