Doing us favors

Do me a favor

I know you hate me right now…

But do me a favor,

Not even a favor now,

But a few years down the road,

Do me a favor.

Instead of sending

An unmarked envelope,

Give me a ring,

See if I sound different,

Meet me in person

And act like this huge void

Isn’t between us.

Just do me a favor,

And pretend we’re old college buddies

Who parted on good terms

Instead of overdramatic teenagers

Who cant stand to be near one another

And I’ll do you a favor back.

I know right now its hard to believe

But I can’t be in a room with you

So I’ll do you a favor

And when we meet a few years down the road,

I’ll pretend like we’re old college buddies,

And in a few years when you call me

I’ll do us both a favor,

And pick up the phone.
