first produced by Pittsburgh New Works as part of the 2005 Young Playwright’s Festival

The Characters

Caroline, a teacher. About forty years old, medium height, average looking. Plain, short hair, plain features.

Eddie, her son. Sixteen years old, tries hard to look rumpled and laid-back. Average height.

Sam, an actor/lawyer. Caroline’s husband. About forty years old.

Stephen, an unusual, curious creature. Memorable, striking, unique features.

The Setting

The family’s dining room: a table with three chairs. A smaller, endtable sits upstage with a phone on it. Assorted pairs of the family’s shoes are in a row next to it.
