Hell’s gift to Heaven,
Heaven’s gift to Hell.
He’s her favorite secret poison;
You know she’ll never tell.
With disdainful adoration,
Caring words of contempt,
He drugged her with affection,
Stealing all her common sense.
Charming as a serpent,
Luring with elaborate lies;
Tempting as the Devil,
Enticing bribes priced too high.
He is the envy of Adonis,
Enchanting all with his gaze;
Stealing love for no reason, save
This twisted game he plays.
His rain cloud eyes
Hold her demise;
She’s lost in their depths.
One small kiss
Hides what she missed;
All the truths he’s kept.
He muddles her perception,
Every lie escapes detection;
He’s a demon from the gods.
Acting out her every dream,
Perfection he only seems;
He’s everything he’s not.
Just say sweet nothings;
She’s yours alone,
Forgetting all
She’s ever known.
Just kiss her softly,
And make her feel
That fairytales
Just might be real.
Each promise made
Evaporates,
Live merely in her mind.
All she holds dear
Will disappear,
Lonely echoes lost in time.
He disavows validity,
Disclaiming possibility,
That he ever said such things.
Clarifying implications,
Calling bluffs like he didn’t make them,
In the warped world he perceives.
Faultless in his eyes,
He meant her no harm;
An innocuous game
That carried on too far.
He sees himself an angel
In guilty innocence.
A murky conscience he calls clear;
His path paved with good intent.
He showers her with scorn,
Reciting empty apologies;
He mocks her foolishness,
Oozing honest insincerity.
Hell’s demon haunting Heaven,
Heaven’s angel haunting Hell;
With one last wicked laugh,
He bids her farewell.
