Don't Judge

Please don't judge me by what I do

Just cuz I do this

It doesn't mean I'm any less of a person

Maybe a person who's in pain

But still a person

Please don't stick a label on me saying "self-harmer"

Don't pass whispers about me

And attack my friends about it

Or try to get me to admit it to you

By pretending you understand

Don't look at me like that when I pick up the scissors

Believe it or not

That's not the first thought that goes through my head.

I can be a self-harmer and still cut paper you know

This may be a part of my life

But it's not the only thing in it

You could watch a murderer using scissors to cut paper

So why can't you watch me do it?

Don't stick a label on me saying "self-harmer"

Don't see me as a self-harmer, but a person

Because really that's what I am, a person

Maybe a person who's in pain

But still a person
