You wake up in the morning, one thing on your mind

You head to your makeup box, your friend, oh so kind

You put the mascara, foundation, and lipstick on your face

You put so much on, you make a circus clown look like a disgrace

You head to the bathroom, stick a toothbrush down your throat

When you get your body like that, you really can’t gloat

You put on the clothes that reveal too much

Making yourself look like a worthless toy, a pretty thing to touch

You put on the high heels, the ones that are way too tall

In hopes of tricking people to think you aren’t a couple inches too small

You brush your blond (with black roots) hair with utmost care

Putting in countless creams and gels to make it “bounce” on air

You go outside, a fake smile on your face

If there were any imperfections, they all disappeared without a trace

Your once real heart is beating and contracting

Try as I might, I can’t get the message through

(If all the world’s a stage, there’s no point in acting)
