10 Years From Now

One day we’ll speculate on the future
Chiming in with tales of lovers past,
Hoping for better days, better loves
Something, anything that could last.

And you’ll wonder to yourself –
Where can I find a man like you?
Who is sweet, caring, and free?
A paragon of love and truth,
A man like you to be with me?

You’ll mention wonderful John
I’ll recall starry-eyed Jane
But we’ll both know - with each other,
We have much, much more to gain.

And you’ll wonder to yourself –
Where can I find a man like you?
With whom to share brilliant revelry?
A silly, crazy, whimsical soul
A man like you to be with me?

This day couldn’t come sooner
Could it be a reality?
Of course I’ve no way of knowing.
I’ll just wait and see.
