A/N- all right, here is the excessivly short epilouge.
Eve Ate It First
Jen smiled softly as she lounged around on a float in the pool. The sun was beating down on her tanning skin, creating a satisfied warmth throughouther body. She languidly dipped a hand into the pool’s water, relishing the cool contrast it brought to the rest of her skin. It was three weeks into summer and everything had finally slowed down. Her brother Matt had finally gotten use to the fact that his best friend was now involved with his sister. Jen gave a tiny laugh to herself as she remembered vividly the night Matt discovered her and Michael making out in the kitchen:
Jen and Michael jumped apart as someone cleared their throat in the hallway. Slowly, the two both turned around with sheepish smiles to face Matt. “Um, hey man,” Michael said, scratching his head in awkwardness.
Matt, for the first time, looked a bit lost for words, “How…what…why,” he fumbled, trying to find the right question.
“I think I’ll just head upstairs now,” Jen told the two boys, attempting to slip past them.
“Don’t even think about it,” Michael told her, tugging her arm, “you’re not leaving me alone with him.”
“Why?” Jen asked, “you think he’s going to hurt you? Look at him, he can’t even speak.”
On cue, Matt seemed to find his voice, “What the hell is going on here? Why were you guys…you know…doing that?”
Jen looked hesitantly up at Michael, not sure herself where they stood on their ‘relationship.’ “Well,” Jen started, “we were doing that because…”
Jen’s smile grew as she remembered how her and Michael stumbled through that awkward chat with Matt. That night Matt was too shell shocked to show any emotion on the subject, but the next day (and week) he ignored Michael and Jen like the plague. He never actually yelled at them, or acted angry, he just wasn’t able to look them in the faces. Eventually he had come around the idea of his best friend and sister being together, even though he still adverted his eyes any time they held hands.
Speaking of holding hands, Jen thought to herself, where is my boyfriend? Just as the thought passed through her mind, Jen found herself being dumped into the freezing water. “Who the hell did that?” she sputtered as she emerged up to the pools surface, spitting water out of her mouth.
“Wasn’t me,” a teasing male voice said behind her.
“You little loser,” Jen said, turning around to face Michael. “It’s freezing in here.”
“Poor, poor baby,” Michael answered with a pouting face, “I guess I’ll just have to warm you up then.”
A light smirk graced Michael’s face as he leaned in to kiss Jen. Eve was so right, Jen thought as she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend, sometimes it really is worth it to take a big bite out of the forbidden fruit.
A/N- OKAY, u don't have to tell me the epilouge is short. I know, I know. I really just didn't want to add too much more. If you guys want, I will right the interludes (matt/stacey and sharon/austin) and those will def. be longer than this epilouge. Oh, by the way, the first chapter of my new story is posted. It's called All in the Family, and it's basically about this girl whose worst enemy is becomming her stepbrother. (mix of two cliches). It's written in first person, unlike this story, because i feel i can better develop my main character that way, so please check it out.
Thnx to everyone who's supported this story.
