Crash and Burn

I guess she never payed attention
and that's how it all started
Given a challenge; he was willing to take it.
No matter the outcome.

Nothing special to offer,
she just figured he would discover -
all the errors in her ways;
but he just made them
beautiful.

And she would just cry at night,
over all her sinful ways,
because she could never love him
but how ironically she did.

Watching as this friendship
caught aflame
slowly burned away,
as it went out with tears,
drying only ashes of memories.

As nothing has happened,
she'll fake her little smile,
and she will pay no attention again.
But she just cries at night,
because she could never love him..
but desperatly she did.
