Forgiving and forgetting

Aren’t the same

But neither could take away

My never-ending pain

It’s unforgettable

In a way that drives my anger

It’s unforgivable

Because you treat me like a stranger

You despise all lies

Yet force me to deceive you

You are ashamed

But only because what I say is true

You control and manipulate

And trying to please only fights it

You ask for my love

But it’s there, you just can’t see it

You are proud

And won’t admit possibility of fault

You think unreasonably

And treat me like I can be bought

By your faux tears;

Your guilt-tripping nonsense

No longer affects me

To treat to you with reverence

Would be to act like I’m guilty

When I’m “only” denied by you, since

Nothing lovely or pure is

Possible

And it’s killing me inside because

Your understanding is so

Improbable

And nothing I say will matter

Anyway…
