Setting: In a cemetery, could be at night, depending on how you interpret this.

Lighting: Spotlight center stage, can follow the character if you decide to have her move around.

Character: Paige, an "angsty" teen.

Paige: You know what's so funny about my mom and I? (Grins) The fact that we could both be mistaken for bipolar people. One minute, we'll be fighting… and the next we're laughing like we had never fought at all, and then the next we'd be crying our eyes out, like we had just finished watching a depressing movie.

Funny… the last moment we spent together was painful. We were fighting about my curfew, which had been 10 at the time, and… and the last thing I yelled at her was… (Pause, as if not wanting to remember what she is about to say) "Mom, you're an ungrateful bitch! I hope you die!" At the moment, I felt like saying it just because I was so angry with her; I really didn't want her to die. Especially not now… Damnit, in about one month, I'll be graduating. I'll walk across that stage, and my father, sister and brother will watch with pride, but not my mom… She'll be in her grave… (Maybe at this point motion to a spot where the tombstone could be.) Rotting away, six feet under… Surrounded by darkness.

(Screams at sky) Look, I'm sorry mom! I swear to god, I didn't fucking mean it! Please! Just forgive me! I never wanted you to die! Never! Why can't you still be here? WHY? (Lights fade)
