Society's Blindfold, Date Unknown

One voice started the down fall.

We turned away.

Then hundred’s on top of

Hundreds joined in.

All screaming out for help.

All seething with unspoken rage.

All living with unimaginable pain.

We grace them with a brief look,

Than turn away.

Faceless names are quickly etched in the

Book of the Dead.

Soon the death toll starts to rise and we act shocked

And confused.

At a loss for what to do,

We turn away, unable to help.

Willing ourselves to forget.

Than we start losing the ones

We love.

Now those names have faces.

They are our parents,

Siblings,

And dearest friends.

We sit and watch as a disease

Takes away the beauty in life.

A grave yard littered with the broken

Pieces of a once joyful life of a

Human being.

The pieces of a human we have forgotten.

Stop forgetting and do something.
