Tantalism
I wish to pluck
the forbidden fruit
from the branches
of the tall tree
over head
Yet I am too small
and cannot reach
the tantalizing fruit
on my own
Occationally teased
by a sudden breeze
a shift in time, moment, place and peace
I fall alone on my knees
But I shan't give up
day by day passing by
growing bigger and stronger
the fruit lingers closer
I can almost reach it
I am still that kitten
you hold a piece of yarn before
slightly out of grasp
constantly dangling
But I will never
give up on you

For my Darling, who is that tall tree with the fruit (of love) that I cannot (physically) reach. I love you Darling
