rose-tinted

i.
there's a certain lilt in your voice, (a precarious tilt
that makes me wonder whether you're sober or not) and
the sparkles in your eyes are much too bright

like florescent bulbs drowning
in bathwater.

ii.
neon filters into your smile
and i begin to glow underneath the surface as
you're soaked up into my skin like blue sunshine

&

(you're) citrus moonlight,
breathed deep into my pores.
