Let this lingering sorrow fade into the past
Pain like this can't be meant to last
A different world born from ash and broken bone
Pain reclining upon a wretched, burning throne
And amidst the flames and stabbing regret
A part deep inside waxes stronger yet
As another part perhaps shall wane
And my heart screams a silent refrain
May the fools and failures be cast aside
And cold hate be melted
Let the anger burn out
And suffering be bled dry
Shattered glass reflects your face
As if everything were still in place
Because fractured reflections like fractured hearts
Don't let us see how the mending starts
Little pieces on the floor
Tiny cuts on hands left sore
Aching muscles and weary eyes
Are the newly found lullabies
For those of us with enough to care
Those of us who are left lying there
On the footsteps of an altar of blame
With everyone crowded, draped in shame
May the fools and failures be cast aside
And cold hate be melted
Let the anger burn out
And suffering be bled dry
And beneath all the lies and pain and mistakes so vast
There lies what is truly meant to last
For these wounds shall one day be healed
Upon the day the anger is finally sealed
Away
From love that must be regrown
For what is ours no other heart can own
So let the nails begin to be hammered down
And cast down pain and take his crown
For the reign of suffering soon must be ended
For love to exist as was intended
May the fools and failures be cast aside
And cold hate be melted
Let the anger burn out
And suffering be bled dry
So that a repaired love might reflect a joyful soul
For I am weary of fragments
Reflecting torments
Of fools and failures
