PERFECTION

What is perfect
To the untrained eye
Spawns discomfort
In which we are tied

And thus perfection is ceased
By the thought of thinking so
Yet we seek perfection
A heaven we try to go

Now we're trapped in illusion
In lies which we mourn
But how do we know
If we won't be torn

If perfection's what it is
Did our visions of perfection
Hold justification to this quiz
And bring a true redemption

Or do we simply seek
A release form ourselves
Making anything do
To deliver us from this hell

So what is perfection
Pulled down from grace
Is it the Piper's dreamland
To which the children race?

Is not Penelope the devil
For bringing them from their dreams
Or is she the One we revel
God, plotting her own schemes

And yet we set our goals
Set standards we can't meet
But who holds right to questioning
The ultimate deceit
