Convey to me

The workings of an artist’s soul

Its mechanisms

And the slow, thunderous beating of the heart

That more often than not

Overpowers the mind

Emotion over logic

Reason amplified

Not put aside

However united

With the purging

Of the sensations that exist

Not outside but within

To threaten the establishment

And hold a hopeful spirit

To speak for those who cannot

Visualize suggestions

Of an alternative society

Offer choices

And expand outside the restrictions

Which were placed upon us

By those who think of new thoughts

And yet fear…

…for this are new expressions
