The carving suddenly exploded in a flash of light and for a while it was too bright to see. When the light faded there was a large hole in the wall where the carving had been.

“Yes…yes this is it,” Loknos muttered to himself.

Inside the whole lie a room of gold, there were golden weapons, crowns, and even coins, but the real treasure was seated in a throne in the center of the hidden room.

In the large, golden throne, a skeleton with a strange gauntlet on it’s right hand sat staring into space with its blank eyes.

The gauntlet was silver and started at the middle of the back of the skeletons hand and almost went up to its elbow, and had 4 round holes surrounding a white jewel that was embedded into the gauntlet at the place where it covered the wrist.

Loknos walked in, ignoring the various golden treasures, as his goblin cohorts looked on in silence, along with Turin, Kura, and Pryce hidden behind the pillar. At his touch the gauntlet disappeared from the skeletons arm and reappeared onto his.

“Yes…YES!!!! THIS IS THE POWER I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR! HAHAHAH!!!.....Now….no one will be able to stop me!”

He laughed on and on and ranted about how powerful he now was but didn’t notice the three teenagers attempting to sneak out until Pryce’s sword accidentally banged up against the pillar as he tried to turn around. Since all the goblins had been silent at this point the sound was very noticeable. Loknos turned around and saw the three friends and raised his arm to them.

“Stop right there humans! Would you be leaving us so soon before dinner?”

At this the stone on the gauntlet began to glow and the wall above the entry way exploded, making enough of it fall where the friends could not escape.

Turin and the others turned back around and drew their weapons, Turin and Pryce with their long-swords, and Kura with her staff.

“Uh-oh…I think we may be in some trouble here…”

“What was your first clue?”

Loknos walked down the inclination toward them. “Well, well humans, you thought you could see all that and then just run away? Heh, I don’t think so. I’m going to test the power of this artifact on you and kill you all!”

Loknos drew his sword with his right hand and leapt at Turin, attacking with a powerful downward slash. Turin was able to pull up his sword just in time to stop the goblin from cleaving through his head, then pushed Loknos back and tried to hit him with a horizontal cut. Loknos easily dodged this, being smaller and faster, and kicked Turin in the back, sending him sprawling face-first into the ground.

Before Loknos could make another move Pryce attempted to attack him from behind with a downward swipe. Loknos somehow saw this coming and rolled to the side then slashed Pryce across the chest with a swift jumping attack.

Pryce fell to the ground clutching his chest, which was bleeding badly.

Loknos kicked him in the side of the head and laughed,

“Hahaha, you pathetic, worthless beings, did you really think you could beat me when I have this gauntlet? It has increased my awareness, my reflexes, and my speed; you have no chance to win!”

Kura was the only one left who could fight; it seemed it was up to her now. She was scared, but she knew she had no choice so she readied herself and waited for him. He examined her and said, “Hahaha…what do we have here? My dear, I’ll be sure to kill you carefully. After all I wouldn’t want your blood to soil you’re delicious skin now would I?”

When Turin heard this he became enraged and rushed Loknos and dug his sword into the goblins back.

“Get the hell away from her you bastard!!!”

Loknos was still for a while, looking as if he were dead, but then he turned around and pulled the sword out of his back. He jumped over Turin’s head and stabbed the sword into Turin’s wounded arm making him cry out in pain. He grasped his arm and fell to his knees.

“How dare you attack me! I’ll make sure you pay for that in full…”

Loknos walked over to Turin and lifted his sword. He brought the sword down and Turin put his good arm up in a futile defense, but suddenly the attack stopped. The sword seemed to be frozen above his head, and Loknos could not move it.

“What?! What sorcery is this!?”

Turin looked just as confused. Suddenly a flash of light blinded the two fighters and moments later Turin regained his sight and was surprised to see that the gauntlet was now on him!

“What? How the...what’s going on?”

When Loknos saw this he began to panic. “What? How is this possible?! I…I just had it! This is madness!!!”

Turin, as confused as he was, took this opportunity to punch the goblin square in the head when he realized that he had dropped his guard. The punch sent Loknos flying and sprawling onto the ground.

“That’s what you get,” he said triumphantly

Kura rushed to his side, “Turin you’re hurt, and Pryce is losing a lot of blood, we have to figure a way out of here!”

“It’s not going to be that easy…”

By this time Loknos had picked himself up and wiped the blood off his mouth.

“You little bastard, I’m going to dissect you slowly…”

The goblins began closing in on the three friends…
