Every fairytale begins with once upon a time…

Every fairytale has a happy ending, where the prince and princess are in love and live happily ever after.

I shall not begin my tale with once upon a time.

I shall not end my tale with happily ever after, because I’ve come to realise that there are no happy endings and there is no ever after.

Then again, I shall not tell any tale at all, for what is there to tell when all that's left are the shattered pieces of my heart, my dreams, my illusions? What is there to tell when you’ve taken my wishes, my world – when I stand here, battered and broken, in this maelstrom of emotions? When all that's left are the ruins of our fairytale castle?
