Life has gathered and positioned me as an ornament,

I glitter and shine with bright determination,

I am an ornament,

Crafted from the hands of man,

Desired from the youth's eye,

As an imaginary companion.

Although i just lie here in my solitary cocoon,

I have a deep passion

To give love where the spirit may grow,

But to a non-believer,

I am just an ornament.

Shining my penetrating light through the darkness,

Hoping to catch your eye,

Do you see me?

Or am i a singular hope with braided golden string?

Or am i just Bent metal

Advertised in magazines,

Sent all around the world,

So that someone may want to hang me on their tree,

For Christmas?

Why am i so excluded from the shunted hopes,

Hanging beside me, behind me,

In front and below me,

I am not just an ornament,

But the star,

The crown of light,

Every Christmas tree needs.
