Authors Note: This poem has a funny story behind it. A kid i sit next to needed a poem written for his english class and wanted someone to cheat for him. Well i decided to ask what it needed. He said it had to be 20 lines (didnt have to rhyme or have any structure really) and had to be about ANYONE we wanted it to be about. Well i told him i would do it for him so i made this and i really like how it turned out. Now the fun of it is, the teacher is going to know he didnt write this since this kid couldnt make the word Cat rhyme with anything so i hope it will teach him a lesson cause he might be dumb enough to use it. I really liked it so i copied it for myself and anyone who wished to read it and for everyone to enjoy :) Thanx!
Dante Alighieri was his name,
A visionary whose mind could not be tamed,
His visions of the afterlife known to all,
And in history his stories do stand tall.
His mentor was his guide,
So that he would surely find,
All that he did seek,
And find those he was destined to meet.
Through the city of Dis,
Shrouded in its mist,
The demons tried to deny,
But in heaven Dante did rely.
Dante, the poet of the dark,
In this world he did leave his mark,
Bringing light to what was once unseen,
And leaving his mark for all eternity.
