Perhaps, perhaps. Contemplation

Drown me in those eyes

So that I fall with indigent grace,

Perhaps you will catch me

Perhaps I will land on my face.

A bit hard to believe,

How it all becomes

And soon leads-

Simple wonderment.

-

Hold me with that smile

So that I linger without cause,

Perhaps you will embrace me

Perhaps I will be at loss.

-

Never mind what was said

Or even heard, at least

The risk I'm willing to take,

Chances with those hopes.

-

Show me the promise

Upon your lips,

Perhaps your eyes.

Perhaps your smile.

-

Perhaps you won't become

Another painful memory.
