My elongated reflection
Quietly diminishing
This
Is all that I’ve ever known.
Looking down
Wet black strands
Clouding my vision
I can’t look at you.
This lump is choking me
But no tears.
Just this dark, dense misery.
This lukewarm coldness
That no amount of pillows can hug away.
Ominous calmness.
Scribbling to this lonely song.
The air empty and stale.
I wish
I could just erase
Every hurtful moment
Every bitter feeling
Every hopeful night under the covers.
I wish
This lump would go away.
