crossing stripes

not racing stripes and nothing like that... a little vague perhaps, try to figure out what i'm trying to say... after all, the reader creates the poem as much as the poet...

unblinking beasts

hunched patiently

politely with-holding their power

to rage forward

and leave behind

puddles red.

unblinking stares

urging me forward

i stumble in my haste

tripping to hurry

out of their gaze.

some,

however

pace delicately

flaunting their "power"

to halt the beasts

But they forget

the minds within

are not easily

placated nor

perfectly patient.
