The Letter

No.7633225

Anne E. Body,

I regretfully report that John has fallen.
I'm determined to aid in preparations.
This soldier was among the few I knew,
Believe when I say one of the best laid to rest.
(He She), a hero (he she) be, made sacrifice.
Through plight, victory is in sight and close.
But winning is bittersweet with the loss
of the valiant sould that did not deserve
to be taken by Death so soon in life.

The dust settles, and the blood sun rises.
If I could, I would confront Father Time
and plead to the old sage to take me so
your loved one would return to the living.
John was brave and bold if the great deeds unfold,
but I can neither provide either now...
Time is elusive and pernament friend,
and I cannot yet spare it for details.
Many letters I must write for the lost.

Sincerely,

General Arse F. Hole
