Sailing
By
H. C. Sluys
Just
one last glance at shore
Before we set sail; there are
So many
memories trapped
In those rocks, that sand that
Fills an
hourglass the size of
An apartment, where each tiny
Grain is
like unrequited love,
And the pain of the blistering
Sun on the
sunbathers might
Scar, but never fade away, no
Never.
Speeding
off, catching waves,
Crying out to loved ones, salt
Air, cool
to touch, surrounds
Us, we rely on the constellations
Through
sparkling spray and
Starlit night, leaving time itself
Behind
in order to discover
A new world of promise and
Hope.
