A Question of the Heart

Why are hearts such fragile things, to

Be broken by a wrong word?

-Because the mind has taken its leave

And left the ungrateful thing alone.

Then why does it seem the mind takes

Flight when the thought of love is thought?

-Because the heart, that beastly thing has

Soiled the true and reasonable mind.

Then show me why my mind thinks only of

The matters of the heart giving me hope and dreams!

-Because… I have no answer for that it seems, my mind

Is a blank about this question of the heart.
