Blood Stained Skies

by

RADIANT INNOCENCE

3/31/06

The skies are crimson red with blood

Yet everyone keeps killing;

It's like they're driven to it,

Like they all think it's so thrilling.

Well let me tell you something

that I saw in the mud:

No one cries over spilled milk

Yet everyone over blood.

Let me tell you something

that I thought up today:

Even if loved ones are killed,

good people for killers pray.

Let me tell you something

that I felt while working:

It's the work of evil people

still in the shadows lurking.

Let me tell you something

that I smelled in the air:

It's copper-scented blood

running through their dirty hair.

Let me tell you something

that I tasted in my water:

It's the awful taste of murder,

It's the bitter taste of slaughter.

Let me tell you something

That I heard from my friends:

Murderers only spill blood,

They do not make amends.

The skies are crimson red with blood

Yet everyone keeps killing;

It's like they're driven to it

Like they all think it's so thrilling.
