This is a short little rant about a new love in my life. :

I Say Soda, You Say Pop

So Dad was skeptical-

“Cleveland?”

“You mean the mistake on the lake?”

My dad has it in for Ohio-

We really aren’t sure why.

Mom was somewhat the same-

“He’s a little too quiet-

“you think he would say more.”

And as we lay in bed

Our arms intertwined,

And our legs just the same.

He leans his head on my chest.

I close my eyes

And I take in his scent.

The feeling, indescribable

He is to me so

Desirable.

And the night wears on.

They all told me

“Stay away, he’s bad news.”

“he’ll just use

you

to get what

he

wants.”

The very people

Who spoke such ill,

Were the ones,

Who brought us together.

And now they figuratively

Kick themselves as

He

And

I

lay intertwined in each others’ arms.

He leans his head on my chest.

I close my eyes

And I take in his scent.

The feeling, indescribable

He is to me so

Desirable.

And the night wears on.
