A Letter

To
My beloved enemy
Whose very being I have tried to destroy,
whose heart-beat I have tried to stop.
It was your blood I thirsted for
that I wanted to spill
I wanted to taste it on my lips.
Sweet victory.
But there has always been something more
that I have craved.
Of which I have needed.

After all these years,
this game we have played,
has taken it's toll.
My very soul is in turmoil.
Damnable evidence of my own weakness,
this very crippling need.
To touch what is not mine,
to touch what I have hated for so long
In the most intimate manner
in the most gentle, loving way.

You see, my darling nemesis
Your suspicions have been confirmed
this is, in fact, a love letter to my enemy - you, of all people.
Rest assured that I will not confess
the undying, ever lasting love of which
lovers so often speak of.
I know those words are so often proven false.
But don't worry yourself
I won't go doing anything rash.
Just wanted you to know
that the next time we meet
don't be surprised if I let you win for once.

Forever yours,
Your faithful arch-rival.
