Good-byes

I watch with falling heart

A hurt so bad I fear my heart shall break

As you sink into the horizon

And fight the tears with each breath I take

I am so tired of those good-byes

We say them each day without fail

They seem more numerous than hello

And leave me feeling helpless and frail

You can't see my tears tonight

As my headlights fade into the dark

Leaving that one thing I need the most

Leaving behind me, of me a part

For those moments you held me

Eternal yet always eternally short

My world was perfect as a whole

Now to memories I must resort

My hands that tighten on the wheel

The same that were just held close to your heart

I can still feel your kiss

And the further I get the further I fall apart
