I'm not the same person

I once was

I used to think

April Fools Jokes

were funny.

Now I know

the truth of it all

I've changed

over the years

I write poetry now

Instead of punching trees

I express myself

instead of burying everything

In spite of all of this

The one thing

that holds true

is the April Fools Joke.

It is a time honored tradition

a way for bonding

but

what is it

Really?

I used to care

I used to love

I used to feel

and now I don't

In spite of my life

I am still just one

of lifes little experiments

I used to care.

I used to love

I used to feel

and now I don't give a damn.

April Fools.......

I got you good

Or did I?

You'll never know.
