Ode to a Lemming

O' Little Lemming why are you so strong?

Ever continuing on your journey so long

Why must you always migrate?

When other animals hibernate

O' Little Lemming why stop there?

On that high rocky ledge, in the breeze so fair

O' Little Lemming what do you intend?

Here above the sea, is this where it ends?

O' Little Lemming why are you so bold?

Why do your hurl yourself into the cold?

Is it that you're foolish? Or are you just brave?

As you throw yourself down, into the waves

O' Little Lemming where do you go?

Why do you disappear, away from the snow?

O Little Lemming we love you

Now that you've left us, whatever will we do?
