Art Imitates Life

Paint me watercolors

That .m.e.l.t. when you cry and swirl together

Because everything you do is beautiful

-

Your tears kiss the ground

And leave fingerprints in my hair,

Like raindrops and snowflakes.

-

And when you sigh,

The noise flutters into my ears and folds itself

Shadows that a street lamp casts late at night.

-

Cracks in the sidewalk stick

Like your eyelashes

Wet and shimmering from fresh sorrow

-

And maybe we don’t look

The way art is supposed to

But I want you to know that everything you do is magic

-

We’re all here waiting

And just when you think you’re alone in a world of death

You bring us to life with your emotion

All you need to do is paint us

-

A/N- A boy whose pain and suffering is what feeds our souls. I wonder if art really does imitate life. Maybe we're only alive because someone else is dying inside.

I wrote this one a while ago with full intentions to post it but never got around to it.

Love,

The Fourth Fate
