(A/N: ok...in order to understand this, a bit about my school. the colours are green, black and white but my sch uniform is a dark blue pinafore...and year 4s, the 16-year olds, are the oldest in the secondary school...yep yep...)

Colours

Green black white

the school pride

colours adorn the wall

At 13, they seemed so bright

So full of might

And seemingly magical

At 14, they dull and fade

To the background

As perceptions are broken and made

At 15, they matter no longer

There was no more hunger

Or precocious wonderment

Green was jaded

Black to grey faded

White tarnished and yellowed

But at 16, sweet sixteen, the penultimate year

Of jade-grey-yellow

And uncomfortable dark blue

Experience and time

turn the faded shades

vibrant green-black-white

Leaving you with bittersweet memories

of faded darkness

and blissful lights
