Dear Macaroni and Cheese
By: Ashley M.C.
Dear macaroni and cheese,
Your box lingers in my cupboard
Many before you given a gruesome death
The water sits on the stove
Boiling, anticipating, ready to cook you
Noodles expand and plump
Strain the water from you
And breathe in fresh box-ly aromas
Oh, how I love boxed dinners
Add a dash of milk, obnoxious amounts of butter
Tear open your little cheese packet
And pour it on in a clump of orange
Mix it up and feel my mouth water
Separate bowls for me and my sister
Pepper for me and a glass of milk
Shovel a spoon full of noodles
Let the taste linger for only a split second
Oh, how I love your gruesome death
