i was almost dreamer sure that
for a split second
it would shoot off into the stratosphere.

collide with jupiter, knock pluto
from the solar maps
and come out of the dragon's jaw
with star scales glazed into the skin

making the whole science community
arrive at my doorstep
test tube ready to break me down
into organic dust

but if they did
they would just find a heart
humming lightning fast, and sunspots
still trapped in my eyes

reflecting off of yours.
