Sexy Pizza

“Love is a many splendid thing, Love lifts us up where we belong, All you need is Love”

“BRING BRING!” rang my telephone, jolting me away from my computer and my psychotic rant I was writing for English.

“BRING!”

“I’m COMING,” I yelled running my way over to the telephone. I deftly lifted the receiver off its cradle.

“Hello this is sexy pizza, can I make your pizza sexy?” I said in a classic bored tone.

“Yes I would like to order one sexy pepperoni pizza with a hot guy, I mean sauce on the side,” retaliated the voice on the other side.

“Gwen, glad you called, what’s up?” I laughed into the phone.

“Nothing much my homie, just wondering if you would like to play badminton with me at my club?”

“Sure, sure, when exactly?”

“Tomorrow, 4:00, be there or be squared.”

“Sunday, 4 o’clock,” I muttered to my self mentally filing it in my mind, “You better watch out cause I have got some pretty slick moves on the court.”

“You ain’t seen nothing yet!” Gwen yelled into her phone, I could hear the TV in the background.

“Well,” she said, “I must be off, House is about to start and that Chase dude is hot.”

“Have fun drooling!”

“Will do!”

“BYE!!”

“BYE!”

I sunk the phone back down into its holder and leaned back in my chair. “Wow,” I thought; someone who actually cares. Gwen, Emily, Ames and I have been getting along famously all week, it was like a dream, except for the part where tree-boy comes in and ruins it all. I really need to find him a hobby or something because he won’t leave us alone; personally I think he is in love with Emily.

Ohh, I feel a plot coming on!

So do I!

With sudden inspiration I got out a piece of paper and wrote down a too do list for the year, sort of a whacked out goals list if you please.

The Plan

1) Lock tree-boy in the closet with someone, that way he will leave me alone.

2) Make the badminton team, OH YA.

3) Do well in school - this should be my top priority. (nerd alert)

4) Actually talk to a guy other then tree-boy

That’s a big one, after going to an all girls school from grade 7-10, guys scare the hell out of me. Maybe it’s because I never have truly conversed with one except for the normal, “Get the hell away from me you crazy animal.” Other then that, nothing, I mainly talk to tree-boy, but I believe it is because he annoys the hell out of me. Ug, men suck, I mean look at my father the good for nothing two timing beast.

Right moving on.

I stared back at the screen rereading the paragraph I wrote, fingers lingering over the mouse. Quickly I highlighted it all and pressed delete.

Who was I kidding? It was all crap, udder crap. My fingers arched over the keys as I racked my brain for something, anything to write. This is going to be a long night…

“So I was standing outside staring into the window of the bookstore when Emily pops up behind me dressed as Ron Weasly while dragging a very annoyed looking Ames dressed as Hermoine.” Gwen explained as we hit the bird back and forth between us.

“Man, I always wanted to dress up as Harry Potter characters!” I wished out loud.

After that we were silent for a few minutes concentrating on the moving birdie. We had to keep on our toes, running cross court and lunging. I was wildly smashing (a favourite shot of mine), Gwen dropping it back causing me to rush to the front of the court. It has been a long time since I have played such a good player. Badminton is pretty big in Toronto, but my school really sucked at it.

Soon we tired of our rallies, so we headed over to the water cooler and benches. I gulped down about half the water cooler before sitting down next to Gwen, water dripping down my face.

“Had enough water? I think there is an ocean close by,” Gwen mentioned to me as she stretched out her legs.

“I’m good.”

“You should join the badminton team, tryouts start next week.”

“Ummm, Gwen, it’s the middle October, badminton season doesn’t start for another two months.”

“Nahh, our team is pretty rad, we have tryouts till the end of October, and then we start training.”

Rad, very interesting, makes me want to go out and get my go-go boats and start dancing around a pole.

“How hardcore is this team?”

“Very, coach only picks the cream of the crop, plus we only get to use the gym once a week, so that makes everything very limited. As well Ms. O’Leary wants to let everyone have a chance. You know her, right?”

“Ya, creative writing teacher. Gwen, what’s up with your cousin?”

Finally get to find out why he is so crazed.

“WOW, totally new tangent, why, you interested?” she insinuated.

“Ah, no, just wondering what wrong with him, one minute he’s quiet, the next we are having a witty conversation, what’s up with that?”

“Its not my place to say, let me just say he didn’t use to be like this.”

A family secret, interesting…
