WHAT LIES BEFORE ME

The tides of destiny...they are a constant flow...

Power that enriches the heart is purpose...

The things that have transpired here...

They are not easily forgotten...or are easily ignored...

I came for here a reason...one that was to fade away...

Faded hope, but not in vain...rather, for the good...

But it was foreseen, expected...rather, too soon..

What lies ahead...I wonder indeed...

The periods of depression, doubt, and fear...

it's all the same road...as before, long ago...

rotted in my room, flat as a pancake...

desperate for love, sex, compassion, and pleasure...

I dare not approach it again...that vain course...

These paths are the ones that lead to destruction...

The way to life...it is always near...trust in God...

Now, having lost my “shining star” I look onward

to what lies before me...my destiny...my purpose...

It's all that I have left...

Now, to my own way...the way I know the best...

Back to where I belong...with no more interruptions...

Only what remains is now...what lies before me...

My time here, quickly ending and receding...

My purpose here is

My last days here are numbered...

So...what?

I have lost my acclaimed love,

jobs have tarnished my character,

and my chances for survival here in this town...

It's all becoming for naught...not necessarily useless...

But I will say this...it is my time to leave this place...

Drowning in sin...sucking air to obtain righteousness..

Need to go to the surface to breathe...

That time...is now, and right now in the present...

Must not look back...but...only what lies before me!!
